Our small team of passionate and experienced volunteers traps stray cats to sterilize them in order to limit their proliferation and provide veterinary care if necessary.
In accordance with articles 15 and 35 of the LALPA, the costs of caring for found animals fall to the municipalities until their situation is resolved. In case of life-threatening emergency, contact the nearest veterinarian directly.
Services for canton municipalities. Valais municipalities can establish a service contract with the official SPA Valais shelter to resolve animal-related issues in their territory.
Valais municipalities have the responsibility to resolve animal-related problems in their territory: lost dogs without identification, multiplication of stray cats, pet abuse, etc. The cantonal animal protection law allows each municipality to establish a service contract with the official SPA Valais shelter.
Official pound service for the Canton of Valais. We ensure temporary care of found, lost or abandoned animals in collaboration with municipal and cantonal authorities.
Contact us before coming with a found animal, so we can assess your case and direct you to the competent authority if necessary.
The Swiss Animal Protection (SPA) has a fund to support destitute pet owners facing exceptional veterinary expenses.
Basic costs such as vaccination, castration, high-level medicine and ordinary medications are excluded from financial contributions.
In case of a positive decision, the SPA will pay a maximum of 80% or CHF 2'000.– of the veterinary bill. There is no guarantee of coverage even if all documents have been submitted.
